One of my favorite parts of creating content for people is the collaboration. Each project usually falls into one of two categories, a problem or an opportunity. In the case of Wilson Mandolins, it was both. Craig Wilson came to me with the idea of showcasing the audio of his beautiful hand-crafted mandolins. He wanted to capture studio-quality sound from his mandolins while also showing them being played for potential buyers all over the world. I saw this as an opportunity to add a little bit about the craftsmanship of each mandolin from Craig himself and show the intricacies of the instruments. Here is an example showcasing one of Craig Wilson’s mandolins.
I filmed these with a mix of Canon 5DM2, Panasonic GH4, and a third body, the Canon 60D, for the studio shoots
The videos were filmed at Aum Studio in Bakersfield.
